IMPACT hosts a discussion:
Sustainable Organizing
Sunday, May 20th, 3 - 5 pm
Mayday Bookstore, 301 Cedar Ave
West Bank of U of M, Mpls
IMPACT begins a series of discussions on "Building Sustainable Alternatives." Our first discussion focuses on how to organize for the long haul and avoid burnout. Laila Davis, a recent graduate of the Humphrey Institute and a community organizer, facilitates the discussion with Karen Redleaf, a local activist.
The "Building Sustainable Alternatives" series marks a new approach to IMPACT forums. We hope to act more sustainably while empowering the IMPACT community. Each meeting will have facilitators who research the topic for the given meeting and bring ideas to share. The facilitators are connected with the IMPACT community and have a strong interest in the topic presented. Facilitators are not necessarily experts in the field. We believe in participatory education. We recognize that everyone has valuable experiences and knowledge to contribute. Come and learn with us!
